Thank you, Geoff! Can't wait to hear what you think of the fiction. They are a bit...um...quirky! The official release date on Living the Life You Love is September. I'll post something when I get the final word from the distributor. Thanks again for stopping by. All best wishes to you!

Hi, Geoff,

I am glad it spoke to you! Thanks for the note on the link too. No idea what happened.

Congratulations also on dusting off that book. After the first two mystery books were published, life happened for me--death, divorce, disillusionment--and I simply couldn't get that third book finished. One of the death's was my mom, and since I projected some of her into one of the main characters, well, it just wasn't funny anymore. It took me ten years to get that third book in print. I worked on it in pieces over the years, but in 2010, I just decided I was going to finish it no matter what. So, I did. And it was really what put me back in touch with my passion.

The book I'm working on now is Living the Life You Love. It goes to the editor the end of this month and will be in bookstores--brick and mortar stores!--in September. I am really excited about that! None of it would have happened, however, if I hadn't pulled out that old manuscript and made my "no matter what" vow.

So, all good wishes to you on your writing adventures! Can't wait to hear more!

Hi, Josy!
Even though our value has to come from within, it sure helps to be surrounded by positive and supportive people. It's a lot easier to slay the dragon when you don't have fight through a jungle of thorns first. Or maybe another analogy is that it's easier for a flower to grow when someone isn't putting salt on it--or something like that. Negative people can work to our advantage though, because the more we embrace our own value, the less tolerant we become of their thorns and salt. We'll only want to hang out with positive people and spiral upward even faster.

I have no idea why I wanted to write that, but thank you for giving me the opportunity!

Thanks, so true, we really don't value ourselves too much, we tend to value others or wait for others to value us. I needed the reminder to stop looking for validation from others and say “Yes, I’m really good at that".

Wow. That's just what I needed to hear - and apply to myself - thanks! I've been reading a book by Wayne Dyer "Excuses Begone" and your article here fits in well with what I've been discovering about living a life without excuses.

As I've been going through Wayne's book, I've taken notes about stories and books I'd like to write. I started my my first writing project over 10 years ago and just this year, this month, I decided to dust it off and finish it. The other notes I've taken relate to small books/stories I'm planning to write for the Kindle format, just like your HETK novel. By the way, the "HETK on Kindle" link above appears to be broken.

Kind regards, Geoff

Geoff,

I am so happy you have found a steady relationship and have someone to share life with! The online dating thing is really the "best" choice these days. You'd think we are so busy that we'd meet more people and have more opportunities, but it seems the opposite is actually true--we're so busy we don't have the time or focus in other situations. So, sitting down in front of the computer and focusing on that, makes sense.

I also think it makes great sense and is a fabulous way to learn more about yourself--at least it was for me. It made me think about things I hadn't--and pointed out things I really wanted to change--and it gave me clarity on what I really wanted. As you say, however, clarity keeps coming!

Thanks so much for sharing. Always good to hear from you!

Hi Paula,

I can relate to your story. My marriage went for about the same time before coming to an end. Although that was a few years longer then it needed to go!

Some time later I got into dating and it was an interesting experience. I thought I had found my "perfect match" several times. It was, as you say, right at the time given what I knew ... then I learned something new about myself and realised that what first appeared a great match was nothing like what I really was looking for, or needed.

After this cycle repeated several times I started getting better at knowing myself and what I needed/wanted out of life.

I'm now in a steady relationship that stemmed from my online dating activities and I've got to say that it was an overall positive experience. There were some heart-breaking moments along the way but I encourage anyone in a similar situation to persevere - it might just be worth the effort.

Cheers, Geoff
